This is a work in progress and is a first try - so the title - and all that goes with it is temporary and subject to change based on the contributions from former YCWs in South Africa, whether they reside in South Africa - or are now part of a Diaspora of ex- SAYCWs. Similarly all those comrades and friends who have worked with the YCW are welcome to make their contributions.

WELCOME NOTE

Dear Former YCW

Welcome to the initiative of a number of former Young Christian Workers (YCWs), residing in the northern provinces of South Africa. From in and around Gauteng at a gathering of some forty or so people - it was decided to launch a blogspot to record, and preserve some part of the history of the YCW in South Africa as a contribution to the struggles of future generations and in memory of times gone by.

Soon we hope the blog will be populated by memories - short or long in the form of testimonies, past publications - and anything that will highlight the contributions of former YCWs to the struggle for the democratisation of South Africa.

Soon we (JM Dumortier and Moses Cloete), will post some initial contributions. You are of course welcome to post your contribution and we will take it from there.
